Sterling, Virginia Fall Mini Session

Fall Mini Sessions in Sterling, VA

The last fall mini session of the year took place at Claude Moore Park in Sterling, Virginia. It was a good combination of previous clients and several new faces as well! The weather had all of us worried. The day before the session was super cold. Mini sessions last around fifteen minutes per session and a couple of new clients chose to book thirty minute time slots. This may not seem like a long amount of time, but for little ones it can be torture to stand in the cold weather for that long. I’m not a huge fan of the cold myself! We were fortunate that the weather warmed up just enough to be considered chilly and not freezing so were able to still make the sessions happen!

The fall colors were slowly starting to fade from the park. When a client books a Sterling, Virginia fall mini session, they hope to have those beautiful rich warm colors of fall in their photos! So we hunted down some of last remaining areas with beautiful fall colors to make sure the photos turned out the way my clients had hoped!

One family showed up for an extended family session for their fall minis. They were so much fun to shoot! The family was made up of four brothers, their parents and grandparents. One brother had a new three month old baby girl and she has the key to all of their hearts! It was easy to see why because she was so adorable! The great grandparents drove all the way from Pennsylvania to be a part of this special session.

Working with such loving, big families reminds me of my own loved ones in the Philippines. They’re a bunch full of laughter and love! Whenever I work with extended families, it always makes me miss my own back home. Whenever I was talking to these clients about my own family I couldn’t help but tear up. I miss them so much! Sessions like these are so special.

These Sterling, Virginia fall mini sessions were so wonderful! It was great capturing so many new families and reuniting with previous clients as well. A previous newborn client came and I loved seeing how much their sweet little one had grown in just a few short months! It never fails to shock me anytime previous clients return with their kiddos. As a mom myself, I know they grow up fast! But when you only see clients a few times a year, it shows how fast they truly grow. It’s always a fun surprise. That’s why sessions are so important. Time passes and change happens quicker than you realize, Freezing those moments in time matters!
