Outdoor Christmas Mini Sessions in Northern Virginia

CHRISTMAS MINI SESSION PHOTOGRAPHY IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA
Christmas season is officially on the horizon! My Christmas mini sessions are just what I needed to get me in the holiday spirit! The mini sessions took place at Silver Lake Park in Haymarket, Virginia. The original plan was to have a red truck and Santa for these sessions. However, the Santa who owns the red truck had an unfortunate medical emergency that will require him to take this Christmas season off. I was luckily able to find another Santa for the sessions!
One thing I love about mini sessions is that there is always a good mixture of previous and new clients! It was wonderful to meet so many new faces and families. I love seeing how much my previous clients’ families have grown! There was one family in particular whose girls I hadn’t seen in almost two years. I couldn’t believe how much they’ve grown. One of their daughters is now a teenager and it was incredible to see how much she has changed over the years in person. It just goes to show how valuable it is to capture your children as they are because they grow up and change so quickly!
The weather kept us on our toes for these Christmas mini sessions. We had to change the day because of rain in the forecast. The day of the shoot was very windy and I was nervous that the set up would be blown away. However, we didn’t have any mishaps and the sessions went wonderfully! I consider it an early Christmas gift that everything went so well!
Another gift from this day was meeting a fellow photographer in the community, Megan Reed of Megan Reed Photography. We are Instagram friends and were finally able to meet in real life! She was also shooting mini sessions and helped me set up for my Christmas minis before her clients arrived. I wish we had remembered to take a selfie together but we were both so busy with our sessions that we forgot! All in all, I am so incredibly happy with how these sessions turned out and I can’t wait for the Christmas season!
