We normally do sunrise sessions whenever we do photos in Washington, DC to avoid crowds. However, for these particular family photos at Reflecting Pool, we had to do it after sunrise. The session was originally scheduled in April for sunrise; but because it ended up raining on our original date, we had to reschedule the session in May. And since the sunrise time then was too early for the family, we decided to stick to our later time. The sun was higher, it was a bit challenging to get the Washington Monument in the frame while also making sure the sun doesn’t hit my lens, and there were other people there; but we certainly made it work.
There was an ongoing construction at the Lincoln Memorial so we decided to avoid it and use the Reflecting Pool with the Washington Monument at the background. And of course, we did photos at the park right next to it.
This beautiful family had recently moved in the area. It has been T’s tradition, the mom, to get a memento whenever they’d move. Usually, it’s a piece of artwork; but this time around, she thought getting family photos in DC would be a great keepsake. And I couldn’t agree more; because these family photos are certainly beautiful pieces of artwork. 🙂
T – Thank you so much for trusting me to document this season in your family’s life. I am obsessed with how your family photos at Reflecting Pool that morning turned out. I had so much time with all the playful activities we did to ensure that all 3 kids are engaged, especially L, your son. I am so glad that you now have these precious photos to remind you all about your time here in DC and that I get to be a part of it.
The kids are wearing pieces from the TBP Client Closet.
