A few weeks ago, I hosted my first spring minis of the year. They were done at a beautiful park in Prince William County, Virginia. You might recognize this park because I’ve also done spring mini sessions in Haymarket, VA last year. I love going to this park, because every time I go there, I always find a new spot for me take photos like what happened during last year’s Haymarket, Virginia fall minis.

A few weeks ago, I’ve had the honor of taking maternity pictures at a botanical garden in Fairfax County, VA for a family of 3, soon to be 4. There’s nothing more special than capturing all the excitement and love of a family as they celebrate the new life that will soon be part of their world.

My most recent session a few weeks ago combined my love for family & senior photography. I love photographing families because I’ve always been fascinated with the interactions & connections between family members. I enjoy senior sessions because I love capturing photos that show the real personalities of my senior clients. Well a few weekends ago, I got the best of both worlds. I got to photograph 2 high school sisters for their Old Town Alexandria senior pictures.

This location in downtown Reston, VA is quickly becoming a favorite among my clients especially those who want to have edgy senior pictures. And I mean, I can’t blame them! This location is perfect for urban senior photos because you get the city vibe without the location being overcrowded. If you’ll remember, when I did the senior session in fall at this location, it was also windy. I have learned this time around that that particular spot was built to be a wind tunnel. Welcoming a newborn into the family is one of life’s most precious moments, and capturing those moments in photographs is a wonderful way to preserve those memories forever. Recently, I had the pleasure of doing an in home newborn photography session for a family of four in Centreville, Virginia.

Earlier this month, I had the honor of doing lifestyle family photos for A & C for an exciting adventure they are about to take. While planning for their photos, we made sure we prepped for a variety of activities for them to do so that we are able to document this phase of life they are in right now. And that’s why I love lifestyle photos so much; it’s not just about looking at the camera and smiling. It’s shows more of who you are as a family.
