There are sessions that stay with you. And this was one of them.
I first photographed J, the mom, and N, the dad, three years ago when they were expecting their first baby. We chose a location that was extra special to them… where they got married. So, when they reached out again for baby number two, it was a no-brainer to go back. Same spot. Same couple. Just a few more stories to tell. It’s actually the same garden with tons of flowers where we did their first maternity session.
We did this session in February, when everything still looked very much like winter. The trees were bare, the grass was dull… but none of that mattered. J and N were just as relaxed and playful as they were the first time around, and this time, big brother, H, came along and made it all even better. He kept us smiling the entire time.
There’s something really full-circle about getting to photograph a couple during both of their pregnancies; especially in a place that means so much to them. It felt like we were picking up right where we left off… just with more laughs, and so much excitement for what’s ahead.
We spent the morning catching up in between shots, swapping stories, and freezing memories before life shifts again in the very best way.
J and N, thank you for inviting me back to document another chapter in your family’s story. It means the world to be trusted with these milestones… not just once, but again as your family continues to grow. Watching H become a big brother and seeing you both settle into this new season was really special. I’m just so grateful for your trust, your friendship, and the moments we’ve captured together.
