Prom Session in Fairfax, Virginia | Northern Virginia Photographer

FUN PROM SESSION BY A PHOTOGRAPHER IN FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA

K, the mom, put her arms around T, her daughter. T looked at her mom, smiling. Her eyes filled with excitement and joy. K looked at her daughter, the same girl she’s been looking at for the past 18 years. But that afternoon, at their backyard, everything felt different. She blew her a kiss. Their eyes locked for a few seconds. K eyes were filled with so much unconditional love and emotion, the kind of emotion that you feel when you realize that your baby has grown up a lot.

This amazing connection that I have witnessed right before me during this prom session in Fairfax, Virginia gave me all the feels. It tugged my mommy heart, because that is exactly how I feel whenever I look at my kids. I can’t believe how fast they’re growing up. And it also made me miss my mom a lot. Looking at K & T on the night of P (T’s best friend) & T’s prom, made me wish my mom can visit us again, and stay longer, so I can share more memories with her.

And this is what I love about my job. This is why I do what I do. Capturing these special moments that show the genuine connection and pure love between family members is what reminds me (& I hope you as well) that no matter what happens, no matter how tough things can sometimes get, as long as you have your family with you, that is all that really matters.

K – Thank you so much for welcoming me in your home & trusting me to capture this special moment of T & P’s lives! She is such a sweet lady! Thank you for letting me take a picture of you and T even though it wasn’t part of the plan. I wanted to make sure that you are in T’s prom night pictures.

T & P – I had a great time photographing both of you on your prom night. Both of you were such a trooper. I love the fun poses that you two came up towards the end of our session. Whenever I look at your prom pictures, I can’t help but smile and giggle because I remember all the fun things we had while capturing these moments.
