RUSTIC BRIDAL SHOWER IN WATERFORD, VIRGINIA COVERED BY AN EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER IN VIRGINIA
Inside the banquet room at 8 Chains North, everyone was busy catching up with each other. Some were sitting at the table chatting, others were standing while talking to each other and giggling with a wine glass on their hands. And suddenly, the door opened. N, the bride-to-be, wearing a white sheath dress and nude sandals, entered the room. She, with her perfectly curled hair and flawless makeup, walked across the room to where her guests are. Everyone stopped what they were doing and hurried towards her. Everyone was excited to see her. One by one, N’s friends and family hugged her, complemented her, and tried to spend as much time as possible catching up with her before she gets pulled away by another.
That was the start of a fun-filled afternoon in Waterford, Virginia for N’s bridal shower. There was some dancing, and fun games were played; while a lot of laughter and love filled the banquet room. Towards the end of N’s bridal shower, S, her fiancé, showed up with a bouquet of flowers for her. And the entire room goes wild. Everyone warmly greeted S, just like they did with N.
It was truly spectacular being a witness to N’s bridal shower and seeing how much she is loved and adored by her friends, family, and fiancé. Some of them even flew here to Virginia to celebrate this exciting time in her life. All of the beautiful decorations were setup by N and her family, even the elegant cake with its dainty details was done by someone very dear to her.
N and her mom were worried that I thought they were crazy throughout the party. Of course not. What they didn’t know was that they reminded me of my home. Having a huge family & a lot of circle of friends in the Philippines, my parties can get easily crowded but are always fun, special, and memorable. Everyone was always welcoming, excited, and ready to celebrate. Just like how N’s family and friends are, everyone was willing to help out wherever they can. I can still remember when I was planning to get my kids baptized in the Philippines while I was here in the US, I have my friends and family helping me out with every little detail of the party.
That afternoon inside the banquet room in Waterford, Virginia, watching N, her friends and family, and S interact with one another, thousands of miles away from the Philippines, I felt like I was home.
N – Thank you for letting me in your circle and allowing me to celebrate with you. It was truly an honor capturing this special day for you. What I witnessed that day was truly amazing! You are very lucky to be loved and adored by many. You, your family, your friends, and S, have reminded me the most important things in life – love, friends, and family, the family you were born into and the family you make for yourself.
