Six months.
That sweet halfway mark between the sleepy, snuggly newborn stage and the wobbly first steps of toddlerhood.
Baby B was just a few days old when I first met him—tiny, brand new, and cradled in his parents’ arms during our newborn session last year. Since then, I’ve had the joy of seeing his smile grow (literally!) and welcoming the whole family back again and again—including for Santa Minis this past fall, where they cozied up by the red truck for a little holiday magic.
This time, we were back in the studio for his 6-month milestone session—one of the sessions included in their Motherhood Package. And even though Baby B isn’t quite sitting up on his own yet, that didn’t stop us from capturing this precious chapter. I prepped the studio bassinet ahead of time, and it turned out to be the perfect little setup for him to lounge in while we documented his bright eyes, gummy grin, and joyful spirit. He is truly one of the happiest babies I’ve photographed.
The whole family joined the fun. While we focused on Baby B, we also made sure to slow down and capture the connection between him and his mama. Because big brother has such a sweet bond with Mom, we included him in a few moments too—because this chapter belongs to all of them, not just the baby.
Every detail came together beautifully, with everyone (except Dad!) wearing pieces from the Client Closet. The soft colors, the sweet snuggles, and the joy that filled the studio that day—it was the kind of session that reminds me just how quickly these baby days pass and how meaningful it is to freeze them in time.
The best part? I’ll be seeing Baby B and his family again in a few months for his first birthday session—our final milestone together in this journey. Watching families grow like this, frame by frame, is truly one of the greatest gifts of this work.
