Simple Studio Cake Smash Photoshoot in Ashburn, VA
You’re probably used to seeing cake smash sessions with well-thought out themes. While themed cake smash sessions are adorable, there’s something beautiful about a simple cake smash photoshoot without any props or themes at all. Simple cake smash sessions keep the focus where it matters, your baby and what they can do during that milestone. They are quickly becoming my favorite; so, when A, the mom, have told me that she didn’t want any setup for C’s, the baby, studio cake smash session in Ashburn, Virginia, I got super excited.
On a sunny afternoon, C’s cake smash photoshoot started with me documenting his milestone. A brought some wooden toys for him to play with while I photograph him & everything about him. C had 3 adorable outfits that he wore for his session. When he wasn’t playing with his toys, he was busy crawling and running around the studio. We played peek-a-boo for a little bit and he also enjoyed playing with one of the kid’s chairs at the studio.
We used a white vintage high chair for his cake smash. A brought a naked cake with some blueberries in it which worked really well with the simple cake smash photoshoot that she had in mind. C didn’t really like the cake so much; the actual cake smash was very quick but I managed to get some adorable photos of him playing with his cake.
