Fall Senior Session in Gainesville, Virginia
As I posed S, the senior, as she was sitting on a stone bridge during her Gainesville, Virginia fall senior session, I felt a drop of water on my skin. I looked up at the sky, and I felt another drop. I looked at M, S’s mom, and asked her if was raining. It sure was. I quickly took the shot, did another pose and packed up my stuff. We all quickly walked back towards the parking lot as the rain got stronger; then we waited in our cars to see if the rain would stop.
S and I chatted about a bunch of different things while we’re waiting for the rain to pass. Among the things we talked about are our thanksgiving plans, her school, her friends, and my family. Being able to do S’s senior photos this year is something special. Don’t get me wrong, every session that we do is special to me because I value the trust & support that all our clients have given us. But if a session was booked because of a previous session, then that makes it a little bit more special since that means we have a highly satisfied client who is raving about us.
In spring of this year, Brittany did the senior photos of S’s sister. And last year, I did their friend’s senior photos in Manassas, Virginia. When S and I were planning her senior session this fall, we were hoping to do it at the same location as her friend’s. But a few weeks before the photoshoot, the tall grass has been mowed. In my attempt to find a location with good light, I stumbled upon a location with some tall grass that I know she loves. It’s not as much as the tall grass in the original location that we had, but I know it will still photograph beautifully. And I’m so glad she trusted me with my location recommendation because the photos are stunning. And you know what made this location switch even better?! The beautiful fall colors!!!
There was no rain in the forecast during S’s fall senior session, until a few hours before we were supposed to start. Luckily, we decided to start her photoshoot earlier so we were able to give ourselves a head start before the rain began. Considering that we will lose light faster, we started to do the last part of her senior pictures even though it was still drizzling. S is such a trooper for walking in a wet field in her heels. We made it work and we did it fast before it started raining again. And our session ended with the most beautiful rainbow. How cool is that?
M – Thank you for trusting me to do A & S’s senior photos. Your trust & support mean the world to me. Your relationship with S is such a beautiful thing to see and definitely something I strive to have when my daughter is teenager. I got to know S a little bit more when we were waiting for the rain to stop and you have raised a wonderful young lady!
S – I am grateful that you have chosen me to do your Gainesville, Virginia fall senior session. I enjoyed every second of your photoshoot, even when we were just waiting for the rain to stop. Good luck with everything! I cannot wait to see all the fun adventures you’ll get to enjoy soon!
