Maternity Pictures in Botanical Garden | Fairfax County, Virginia

A few weeks ago, I’ve had the honor of taking maternity pictures at a botanical garden in Fairfax County, VA for a family of 3, soon to be 4. There’s nothing more special than capturing all the excitement and love of a family as they celebrate the new life that will soon be part of their world.

E, the mom, and I met through Instagram 3 years ago when C, the big sister, was turning 1. She was looking for a photographer for C’s party but I wasn’t available so I helped her find someone. Fast forward to this year, we finally met in person and I get to document 2 of the biggest milestones in their family’s life – to celebrate the beautiful life that’s inside C & to document the arrival of their newest family member in the next few months. How amazing is that?!

This botanical garden in Fairfax County, Virginia, filled with tons of flowers, is one of the most requested location for photoshoots this year. It is for a good reason, this location is simply beautiful. Depending on the time of your visit, different flowers and trees are in bloom. And for me, that’s what makes it even more beautiful because you’ll always have something to explore. Some of the spots I have chosen to do their maternity pictures at are new spots that I recently discovered; and some are old ones that I have used in the past. But even with that, they still look different. It’s like I am always seeing this botanical garden with fresh set of eyes.

For their maternity pictures, we went to a few spots that I’ve taken photos at before because I know they would look beautiful; but we also did photos at a couple of new spots that I just discovered as I was walking around on our session day. It was so peaceful to watch this family’s relaxed yet fun personalities. We chatted a lot about different things about our families. C was super excited when their photoshoot was done because she was promised ice cream right after. I can’t blame her… Ice cream after photoshoot sounds amazing!

I am so excited for you guys to welcome your newest family member! Can’t wait to see you all in a few months & meet your precious baby.
