AT HOME NEWBORN PHOTOS BY A FAIRFAX COUNTY, VIRGINIA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER
It was one of those Saturday nights when the kids had chosen a scary movie to watch. You know that music that you hear in movies when something scary is about to happen? It played. I didn’t want to wake up Baby R with my scream (I knew it’s bound to happen when watching scary movies), I took my phone and just browsed while waiting for the scary scene to be over. And there it was, an email waiting to be opened with a subject “Baby girl #2- due February 8” from K, a previous client. I almost jumped from where I was sitting because of too much excitement. I opened the email to read more. K told me that they are expecting their second baby and wanted to setup a lifestyle newborn photo shoot at their home in Fairfax County, Virginia once the baby arrives. I was truly honored. My heart was happy.
Since that evening back in December when K informed me that they’re expecting, I’ve been looking forward to our in home newborn session. They had chosen me again to document yet another special milestone in their family’s life; and for that, I am really grateful. When they were expecting their first baby, I did their maternity session. A few months after, I documented the arrival of their first baby girl. So it really meant a lot to me that I am going to be doing their lifestyle newborn photos again.
Fast forward to last weekend, I pulled up on their driveway. When R, the dad, opened their front door, it felt like I walked in to an old friend’s house. And there baby E was, comfortably held by K, the mom. And C, the big sister, was all ready for our fun morning. We chatted for a bit. They showed me the newborn photos I took of C during her lifestyle newborn session 2 years ago that they had framed which R’s parents also framed in their home; I was absolutely delighted.
Baby E is so precious!!! She’s very lucky to be surrounded by people and O, their four-legged family member, who adore her. And I can’t believe how much C has grown. As I was taking their in home newborn pictures, we danced to Moana’s songs, and we looked for Moana in my camera lens. Of course, we did a lot of catching up in between the photos and before I left. We had an awesome time together.
R & K – Thank you for trusting me again to document another special milestone in your lives. I am truly honored that you had chosen me again to take your lifestyle newborn photos at your home in Fairfax County, Virginia. I cannot wait to watch E grow. I am sure C and E will be best friends for life.
