2020 was surely a very hard year for everyone. It was a year filled with never-ending challenges. Working from home with a baby and 2 school-aged kids who are doing virtual learning & need help constantly was so hard, while running this photography business was very tough. Most nights my bedtime was 2 AM just to catch up with everything I need to do. And most mornings, I was fighting sleepiness while I do my full-time job and my Mommy duties. I’m sure some people had it harder than us. But no matter how hard of a year 2020 was, I always like to walk away from the past year with a grateful heart and look back on all the good things that had happened.
It was in the year 2020 that our pandemic baby was born and we bought our first home. It was also the year that reminded me that everything can go wrong; but if at the end of the day, you have your family with you and you are all safe, healthy, well-fed, and feel loved, that’s the only thing that matters. So before I really say goodbye to 2020, I’d like to walk down memory lane and reminisce all the memories I was able to capture for my clients.
My first ever session in 2020 – a lifestyle newborn session in Fairfax, County. I’m so honored to be able to document this special time for them. I can’t wait to see them later this year to document another special milestone for their family.
How adorable is this Mr. ONEderful cake smash session in Fairfax, Virginia, right? And then later that month, I covered his 1st birthday party.
This family session was my last session before the lockdown. After this, as a precaution, I closed TuBelle Photography and didn’t take on new clients until October which was after my maternity leave.
My DIY maternity session in Prince William County which was done in our neighborhood. I wasn’t planning on doing my maternity photos until late April, but I had a feeling they are going to close everything down so I did it earlier.
Baby R, our pandemic baby, was worn. I was planning on hiring a photographer but because of the virus, I wanted to be extra careful and did his lifestyle newborn session by myself.
This was my first family session in Loudoun County, Virginia after I got back from my maternity leave. And it sure felt so good. I missed it A LOT!!! And every weekend from here on, I had a photo shoot.
This family session in Aldie, Virginia was scheduled in Spring of 2020 but we kept on rescheduling because of the virus. The baby boy has grown up a lot! He was supposed to be 4 months for our session, he turned 1 by the time we were able to do their family session.
This family session in Falls Church, Virginia was extra special because I did their Christmas mini session back in 2019. I can’t imagine how much the girls have grown in a span of 11 months.
This family session in Triangle, Virginia was another extra special one because I did their extended family session back in the summer of 2019. We had tons of laugh during their session, and the fall colors were simply beautiful.
This family session in Northern Virginia was done in this family’s neighborhood. They just recently moved to their neighborhood and the last time they had family photos done was 3 years ago. They walk at this trail almost every day so doing their family photos there really meant a lot to them.
It was an honor documenting this milestone for this family. After their maternity session in Woodbridge, Virginia last November, I will be seeing them again later this month to document the arrival of their third baby and I cannot wait.
This family session was the last photo shoot I did in 2020. We did it at the backyard of their grandparents. And then we stopped by one of the streets on our way out to capture more photos. And I’m so glad we did because the photos below are so dreamy.
Don’t you agree these photos are so dreamy?!?
