Fairfax County, VA Rainbow Themed Cake Smash Session

I had the best time taking these adorable cake smash pictures in Fairfax County, Virginia. I took this family’s Christmas Mini Session last fall, and it was fun to reunite with them again. When clients keep coming back, it reassures me that clients enjoy working with me; and that just makes me so happy. I’m always grateful to build relationships with them and watch their families grow over the years. The family’s little girl had grown so much since I’d last seen her in person!

The rainbow theme for the cake smash photos was so cute! We captured this session in their home. Mom bought all of the props and set everything up. She even DIY’d the rainbow balloon arch. Everything looked amazing, from the beautiful balloon arch down to the little golden stars scattered all throughout! She also coordinated L’s, their sweet baby girl, sweet outfit and cake to match. I was so impressed!

Baby L was all smiles and so sweet before her cake smash pictures. She was adorable! The two different outfits mom picked out for her looked really cute on her. They went perfectly with the rainbow themed session.

Baby L, was super cute! She had the most beautiful, long eyelashes. Mom really wanted me to capture those so she could remember them. I love how parents always have something particular they want to remember about their unique little babe during their session. So, I always do my best to deliver!

The actual cake smash portion was so funny. Baby L wasn’t quite sure about the cake when she first tasted it! We had to really encourage her to keep trying it and to get messy. She was adorable and finally just went for it. We were able to snag some really cute cake smash pictures of her.

This session went amazingly well. It was all thanks to the hard work that mom and dad put in. Because of their encouragement for L to get messy and have fun, we were able to get some great pictures of her “smashing” the cake. They spent a lot of time planning the rainbow theme and setting up the props to make it all happen. I’m sure Baby L will love looking at her cake smash pictures when she’s a little bit older!

On my way out from the session she wanted to give me a hug and it melted my heart! It was so fun working with this family again.
