White & Purple Themed Cake Smash Photos | Haymarket, Virginia

HAYMARKET, VIRGINIA WHITE & PURPLE THEMED CAKE SMASH

My first session of the year was this adorable cake smash in Haymarket, Virginia! This family is a previous client of mine from my Sterling, Virginia mini sessions. Baby P had grown so much from November to January! I couldn’t believe it!

S, the mama, used beautiful white and purple colors for the cake smash theme. We captured this session in their home and kept it simple. My recommendation with my cake smash sessions is always not to overwhelm the session with a lot of props; so that we can keep focus of the photos where it matters, their baby. And in this session, their sweet girl, P.

S, picked out four adorable outfits for us to choose from for her cake smash session. Dad, C, helped us pick out the “wild one” onesie with a purple tulle skirt. We also chose the beige colored, lace onesie as her change of outfit. We wanted to use one outfit to take beautiful portraits before the cake smash and then swap to a more casual outfit for the cake smash itself.

Baby P was more interested in the balloons than her cake! Mom and grandma really had to do a lot of work to encourage P to go for the cake! It was so cute to watch P with her grandparents! She sees them often and is absolutely obsessed with them. Her grandparents are really engaged in her life and wanted to come sit in and watch her cake smash session. Talking with the family, I told them how much of a dream of mine it was to have my own children be close with their grandparents. It is really difficult with my family living in another country but I won’t give up on that dream for my family!

I was so happy with how the cake smash session in Haymarket, Virginia turned out. It was so much fun and full of laughter and love. Connecting with my clients and seeing their family dynamics is one of the best part of my job as a Haymarket, Virginia photographer. This session was so, so cute! The simple theme couldn’t have been more perfect and really allowed P to be the star of the session!

S – Thank you for trusting me to document Baby P’s special milestone through the adorable white & purple themed cake smash session that you have planned for her. Just like your mini session last November, I had a blast with you guys! Thank you for welcoming me in your home! It was so beautiful watching how much your entire family adores Baby P. Witnessing things like this is one of the things I always look forward to as a cake smash photographer in Haymarket, Virginia because it reminds me of how beautiful a family’s love can be.
